What cuisine does Obento Ramen Bar serve?
We serve Far East Asian flavours with ramen at the heart of the menu. Owners Dan and Ling bring their travels and love of food straight to your bowl. A taste of Japan and beyond, right here in Johannesburg.

Do you have gluten-free options at Obento Ramen Bar?
Yes. We offer a range of gluten-free starters and grills, and for our ramens, we swap in rice noodles so you don't miss out on the bowl.

Do you do takeaways?
Yes, order directly through our website for the best prices, or via UberEats for delivery. Please note UberEats prices are slightly higher due to their commission fees, so we always recommend ordering direct for pickup. All orders are prepaid; we're unable to take telephonic or WhatsApp orders.

Do you accept walk-ins?
We do, when we have availability. That said, we recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment especially on busy nights. You can book online directly on our page.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Diners.

Is Obento Ramen Bar Halal or Kosher?
No, we're not Halal or Kosher certified. As a licensed establishment serving alcohol, and given some of our ingredients and preparation methods, we're unable to meet those requirements.

Do you offer corkage?
We don't offer corkage, as we work hand-in-hand with Open Bottle, our in-house wine and spirits bar, to bring you a full drinks experience. Outside food and beverages aren't permitted.

Is Obento Ramen Bar licensed to serve alcohol?
Yes. We offer a full range of beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits.

What are your opening hours?
We are open from Tuesdays to Thursdays from 17h00 to 22h00. Fridays and Saturdays we are open from 12h00 to 22h00. Please note that our kitchen strictly closes at 21h00.

Do you offer parking?
Ample off-street parking is available around Parkmore Square, closest to the restaurant is 11th Street. When 11th Street parking is full, parking is still available behind the centre via 12th Street - Dischem or Spar parking.
